Praise is an important form of prayer. Our pets, all animals and all Creation join in praise according to the Psalms:
Praise him sun and moon...
Praise the Lord from the earth...
fire and hail, snow and frost...
fruit trees and all cedars!
Wild animals and all cattle,
creeping things and flying birds!
Kings of the earth and all peoples,
princes and all rulers of the earth!
Young men and women alike,
old and young together!

We can show appreciation for such a magnificent Earth by respecting all of God's Creation, such as animals, trees and snow just as we should respect one another
ReplyDeleteI never realized how much animals and plants can teach us about spirituality.
ReplyDeleteNature is a beautiful thing. Each of God's creations should be appreciated even if they are killed purposefully. They are killed and appreciated because they provide nutrition and life to those who killed it. If it is just killed for sport it is not appreciated. The animal is viewed as a trophy, a prize. The animal is viewed as an object rather than a living, breathing creature that has the same origin of life as we[humans] do.
